Why PRELAXAN?

Why PRELAXAN?

How to choose the right laxative to avoid negative consequences in the future?

Below is a comparative characteristic of Prelaksan and other laxatives, indicating the pros and cons of all drugs.

People buy laxatives and often do not know that many traditional remedies for constipation lead to addiction. And ordinary constipation can easily turn into years of constant medication. Currently, more than 200 forms of laxatives are registered on the Ukrainian market. It is believed that traditional laxatives (salt, herbal, bisacodyl, picosulfate, etc.) are currently used unreasonably widely and for a long time. Thus, the disadvantages of herbal laxatives include: the fastest addiction. Disadvantages of intestinal peristalsis stimulants containing anthranoids: anti-absorptive and hydrogonic effects; mutagenic effects; the ability to cause intestinal melanosis; development of post-laxative bowel; addiction; the appearance of cracks and lacunae in the intestinal mucosa; perianal thrombosis; with prolonged use, they increase the risk of developing colon tumors; are absorbed into the bloodstream and excreted through the kidneys.

Prelaksan differs from other laxatives:

  • Prelaksan is a mild laxative. Prelaksan does not affect the epithelial walls of the intestine (like senna, senadi, bisacodyl, etc.). Such laxatives are prohibited for use by pregnant women, children under 13 years of age and for long-term use. Prelaksan does not form a lazy bowel syndrome, is not addictive.
  • Prelaksan differs from osmotic laxatives
  • Prelaksan, like osmotic laxatives (Forlax, Fortrans, etc.), retains water in the lumen of the intestine, changing the osmotic pressure here. However, Prelaksan also has a prebiotic effect, normalizing the intestinal microflora and, thus, eliminating the most common cause of constipation - dysbacteriosis.
  • Prelaksan is different from bulk laxatives

Bulk laxatives absorb water, swell and cause stretching of the intestinal walls, due to their increase in volume. They also do not eliminate the causes of constipation and, unlike Prelaksan, do not have a long-term therapeutic effect. In addition, these laxatives can deform the intestinal walls (stretch it) and even (in the absence of medical control over the dosage and incorrect diagnosis) lead to its perforation. These risks do not arise when taking Prelaksan.

Prelaksan is different from probiotics

Probiotics (bifidumbacterin, lactobacterin, linex, probifor, etc.) - Means for normalizing intestinal microflora - are preparations containing live bacteria of beneficial intestinal microflora. It is assumed that taking probiotics contributes to the colonization of the intestine with this microflora, but only 5-10% of live bacteria from the probiotic content reaches the colon.

Therefore, treatment with probiotics is usually long-term, and its results are not stable.

Unlike probiotics, when using Prelaksan, the intestines are not colonized with foreign microflora, but rather stimulate the growth and vital activity of their own beneficial bacteria.
